Bickleen Wang was a Chinese New Zealander academic and author. She arrived to New Zealand as an eight year old in 1939 with her mother as refugees a result of the Japanese invasion of Hong Kong reuniting with her father who had been working in New Zealand prior on a farm. Bickleen was a bright and hard working student becoming the first Chinese women to earn a post-graduate degree in New Zealand.
