Sir David Henry was a Scottish-born industrialist and philanthropist who played an important role in consolidating the timber in industry in New Zealand.

David was also a noted philanthropist, especially for his establishment of a forestry scholarship that enabled students to train overseas, and for his support of the Presbyterian Orphanages and Social Service Association.
