Historical Burial Grounds

The historical burial grounds date to when the cemetery first opened in 1889. This area occupies the higher grounds of the cemetery, where many of Auckland’s earliest notable citizens are buried. If you prefer a historical setting, there are still some plots available in these picturesque areas. We would be delighted to assist you – please contact us for more information.

CONDITIONS FOR PURCHASE OF HISTORICAL BURIAL GROUND PLOTS

Pre-purchase of historical area burial plots are allowed only for imminent or immediate use, or for families who already have close family buried here (a spouse, child, parent or sibling).

Plots are available in areas A, D, F and G.
