William Pratney (born Wiremu Paratene on 20th of May 1909) was an inspirational professional cyclist who won various competitions including; New Zealand 100 mile Road Championships (1937). Pratney also severed on the Manurewa Borough Council and was an inaugural member of the Manukau City Council who ran on a Christian platform.
